With 2 x 80 watts and 8 ohms, an ultrawide-frequency response (10Hz - 100kHz) and a harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 0.07 %, the HK 980 generates sound characteristics that are distinguished by consistent accuracy and phase linearity. Due to its high-current capability (80 Amps!), the amplifier supplies the output needed for precise actuation and accurate control of nearly all stereo loudspeaker systems. An A/B loudspeaker switch, six analog audio inputs, preamp outputs for connecting external power amplifiers, and high-quality connections for cable diameters up to 10 mm2 round out the HK 980's features. Vinyl-record fans will particularly appreciate the high-quality phono input for connecting a record player with an MM pickup system.
